Why I'm doing this.

ern

What I am doing:
I am going to attempt to run (run/walk) 26.2 miles (40K) in San Francisco on October 24th to raise a minimum of $1800, preferably more, for Leukemia and Lymphoma research.
Why i am doing this:
My Aunt was diagnosed with stage 4 (Non-Hodgkins) Lymphoma. In addition to a lot of other research, I stumbled upon a program put out by team-in-training which trains runners for charity marathon which donates 75% of the collections towards Leukemia and Lymphoma research.
How you can help:
Donations are greatly appreciated, via check or website. A kind word or encouragement are appreciated as well.
Why you should help
Deaths
Leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma will kill an estimated 60,400 persons in the United States this year.

Every nine minutes, another child or adult dies from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma

New Cases
An estimated 106,700 people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma in 2004.

New cases of leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma account for 8.7 percent of the 1,200,100 new cancer cases diagnosed in the United States each year.

Every five minutes, someone in the United States learns that they have leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma --- nearly 300 people every day
